
Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter who won the Beijing Olympics 100 meter run, broke his own record of 9.69 seconds by 11 seconds. He created a new one of 9.58s at the World Championship in Beijing.
Behind him were American Tyson Gay, the 2007 world champion who finished second in 9.71s(the third fastest time ever) and Jamaican Asafa Powell claimed bronze in 9.84s.
