NCESC Individual Services

If you are looking for the North Carolina Employment Security Commission to get to the Individual Services section (NCESC Individual Services) you might be disappointed at this time as the page is down. This is most probably due to the big influx of traffic wanting to view that page. But what is this all about?

Well, the N.C. Employment Security Commission said yesterday that the top weekly benefit is going up $11 to $505, effective Saturday and lasting through at least July 31, 2010. Such an increase is designed to help the local economy through its consumers’ usage of the money.

However not everyone who files for the maximum amount will be given one. It all depends on the worker’s base period. The base period is defined as the first four of the last five completed calendar quarters the person worked, prior to the quarter in which a claim for benefits is filed. This period would determine the amount and duration of the unemployment insurance benefit an individual would get.
