The NC tax free weekend is back! It starts on August 7 2009, Friday and ends on August 9 2009, Sunday. This surely is a welcome tax break from hurting consumers who needs some supplies badly. However, not all states are included in the tax free weekend. Florida and Massachusetts are not included as those states cannot afford the loss in revenue.
Sample items(too long to list all…) that are eligible for the tax break are:
- Clothing
- Shoes
- School supplies
- Computers
- Linens
While those below are ineligible:
- Clothing accessories
- Jewelry
- Cosmetics
- Protective Equipment
- Wallets
- Furniture
- Items used in business or trade
- Rentals
