Do you own your home or are you still paying for it? Are you current on your mortgage or are you already late in payments? Whatever the case be, you can ease the burden a bit via the Making Home Affordable Program (as seen in the makinghomeaffordable.gov website)!
The program is divided into 2 parts, the HARP (Home Affordable Refinance Program) and the HAMP (Home Affordable Modification Program). The former ones would help home owners who are current in their payments to get lower interest rates. While the latter one would help delinquent payers to modify their current loans and help them ease their payments.
To learn more about the program, you can check out some videos here or the PDF here.
