How to Cool Your Laptop When It Gets Too Hot

I have been using my laptop for quite some time now and I can say that taking care of your laptop is a must if you want to keep it for long. The number one enemy of any laptops is overheating. And once your laptop overheats, its internal parts can be potentially damaged through time. So what should you and I do when that happens?

At first, what I did was create enough breathing space underneath my laptop for its natural cooling to take place. I did so by putting a book underneath my laptop rear thus creating a triangular space for the heat to dissipate.

I also only use my laptop in an air-conditioned room. This is a bit of common sense but together with the technique I mentioned above, it has helped cool my laptop.

However, I noticed that this was not enough. Though my laptop has been cooled using the above techniques, I still get the windows blue screen of death from time to time due to laptop overheating. Or my laptop sometimes restarts by itself due to this problem!

That is when I decided to buy a laptop cooler. I bought a Belkin F5L001 laptop cooler which fit my laptop perfectly. From then on, the blue screens stopped appearing and restarts never happened again.

So I guess what we can learn from here is that preventing laptop overheating is one of the most important ways to take care of our laptop. We can be cheap and use the first 2 techniques I mentioned above or we can invest in a laptop cooler. For me, buying one is a decision I will not regret.
