Disposable lab coats are what you need if you do not work in a laboratory frequently. Just like your ordinary clothes that you wear to keep yourself from dirt and keep you comfy, lab coats are designed to keep your clothes from getting dirty and thus save yourself from a couple of washes. These coats are normally made of regular cotton but the problem with that is cotton is dirt-prone and is hard to wash. Thus, with the advent of technology, businessmen created a new niche out of this problem and created disposable ones for sale to lab goers. But do you really need one?
The answer lies on several factors but let us just take a look at some of the most important ones. First and foremost is the house rule (or the lab rule if you want…). Do the rules allow you to use a disposable one as against a regular coat? If the answer is yes then it is in your best interest to get one especially if your regular lab coat is still out in the sun to be dried.
Second, do you go to the lab often? If you only go to the lab several times a month, then it is best that you buy a disposable one rather than a regular one as this can save you money.
Third, what do you do in the lab? If your work in the lab entails you getting dirty a lot, then it is good option to make use of ready to throw lab coats. This is because regular coats are hard to wash and clean. What’s more, since you work in a lab, you would not know what substance or microorganism found its way into your coat so it safer to use a disposable one for safety purposes.
Yes, using disposable lab coats is a good option to consider. It is cheap and would not give you headaches when it comes to washing and cleaning time.
