Erik Gates is dead. According to various reports, he was involved in a freak accident at work which concluded his life at the relatively young age of 47. Gates fell through a skylight on the building and died of blunt force injuries to the chest. He was lucid and talking at the scene immediately after the fall, but died later at the hospital.
Gates owned the electric company “Gateco Electric”. But he might be better remembered when he appeared on a few episodes of the popular Discovery Channel TV show, “Mythbusters”.

5 to 6 hostages have been abducted as what is now famously called as the Wytheville Hostage. A gunman with explosives has taken people hostage at a post office in Wytheville but it is still unclear who he is or what his demands are.
No injury has been reported and it was said that the gunman has allowed the hostages to call their families to tell them that they are okay.
Out of the five people, three of the hostages were employees at the post office and two were said to be customers. One of the hostages is 41-year-old Jim Oliver, Jr. of Wytheville who was running an errand to the post office for the business when the gunman entered the post office.
The hostage situation at Wytheville VA started at about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
See the videos below for more information about the hostage situation:
