Diesel Gas Cans

Diesel gas cans are very useful. If you are a driver of a vehicle using diesel as fuel, then you definitely should have one in case of emergencies. Trucks and vans are normally powered by diesel so drivers and owners of these types of vehicles should consider buying one. But to be clear, what are some of the top reasons to buy one? Let us consider two. First, you get to have spare fuel when your vehicle becomes empty and second you need one when you are on a long trip.

What would you do if your van or truck suddenly stops because you do not have enough fuel? Well, you can call the mobile patrol or if you want you can walk to the nearest refueling station. Or if you are wise and have taken the advice above, you could simply take your gas scan and refuel your vehicle on the spot! That way, you do not disturb anyone with your petty emergencies and you get to go your way right away.

Additionally, if you and your family are going on a long road trip, you definitely need one especially if the trip you are going to does not have frequent refueling stations on the way. To make sure of this, calculate the distance of your trip and compare it against the fuel capacity of your vehicle. If you need refueling even before you reach your destination, then it is wise to buy a gas can to be on the safe side.

Yes, buying diesel gas cans is a wise decision to make. It is not as if these cans are very expensive so as to burn a hole in your pocket. But instead, it is a good investment which would benefit you in more ways than one. So get some now before you go on that long trip of yours.

Ford Recall image

Ford is having its largest vehicle recall ever. With the safety of its consumers at risk, Ford will be recalling 4.5 million vehicles with a possible fire hazard from a faulty switch. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued its eighth recall that involves 16 million Ford Motor vehicles because of a faulty cruise control deactivation (by Texas Instruments) which could lead to fires even if the vehicle is turned off!

“We determined with the government that there is a low risk of fires for those vehicles,” Ford spokesman Wes Sherwood said. “The other 3.4 million vehicles are the remaining vehicles that have the Texas Instrument switch, so we’re recalling them to reassure customers and prevent future recalls.” Sherwood said that Ford vehicles did not use the Texas Instrument switch in post-2003 models.

The recall is expected to begin less than 2 weeks from now around October 26. For Ford owners, you may contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673 or NTHSA’s vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit http://www.safercar.gov.

cash for clunkers image

The Cash for Clunkers Program is still fresh in our minds as it became a smashing success in turning around the automotive industry from a sharp decline. In contrast, it has actually helped push the nation’s August retail sales up by 2.7 percent. However, not all applications have been approved as 60,000 clunkers were rejected for payout.

From a larger perspective though, that is just a small number compared to the 535,000 vouchers paid worth a whooping $2.25 billion! And there are 77,000 more vouchers that have been approved worth $322 million. Chaching!

“There can be no doubt that this program drummed up more business, for more people, in more places, at a time when we most needed the help,” Secretary Ray LaHood said.

Watch the CNN video footage of how successful the program was:

Volkswagen Shirako

Looking for a Volkswagen Shirako? Well, from what I’ve heard the VW Shirako is also called the VW Scirocco and if you are looking for a photo or image of it, it is the one above.

The word shirako came from the Italian word sirocco, which means the wind. So I guess what they are trying to convey here is that this car is as fast as the wind!

The production of this model was announced by the company in June 2006 at its assembly plant in Auto Europe. In the Paris 2006 auto show, a concept car was displayed sampling this model. The main feature of the Shirako model is its one diesel and two petrol engines.
