Cable TV Provides in the Philippines image

Just bought a brand new TV and am looking for Cable TV providers in the Philippines. Now, I am not a big TV watcher and more hooked to the internet (for both work and leisure…). I am considering of applying for a cable TV connection to watch important news and NBA games :) . Another reason is having an old-school antenna is not possible at my place. Thus, I tried to search for providers online and here is what I found:

Sky Cable
Of the 4 in this list, Sky Cable has the most beautiful website. They have the Sky Cable Starter package which is priced at P280 per month, not bad…They have what I want, the news and the BTV (basketball channel). However, new subscribers have to pay P2000. Let us check out the other providers.

Global Destiny
The lowest plan is at P500. And with that comes the following benefits:

  • NO INSTALLATION FEE!!!
  • Crystal clear signal
  • 85+ Channels
  • First 100 ft. cable is provided at no cost; in excess, pay P10/ft.
  • Just pay 3 months advance (P1,500) upon connection
  • Monthly billing starts on the 4th month
  • Additional P50.00/mo. for every TV extension plus one-time fee of P200 for materials

In terms of what I want, Sky and Global are equal. They have what I want. In terms of everything else, I think Global has an edge. They have more channels and in the short run is cheaper than Sky. In the long run though, Sky would be cheaper, you do the math :P

Cablelink
I don’t like their website. It is not user friendly and it is not suitable for marketing as well. They have done a bad job on this. They also do not have Basketball TV. FAIL.

Home Cable
No website??? FAIL FAIL FAIL.

So there. Those are the only providers I was able to find online. If you see more, please let me know.
