A Look at Globelines DSL Internet Service

Get Updates by Email or by RSS feed

2 personal concerns:

1) This is just to let everyone know that Globelines DSL was down from 01-15-2009 to 01-21-2009. According to the Globe customer service-bot, Globelines was undergoing maintenance. But what really was frustrating was the fact that Globelines never informed me of the said downtime beforehand. I put that in italics since they did call me a few days after the start of the so-called maintenance. They also said that I’ll be getting a pro-rated bill based on the actual number of days that I do have a serviceable internet connection. I am not sure how true that is.

2) I enrolled in this internet service with a promo package. I was supposed to get a printer and a headset if I availed of this service. They promised mid-December but was not able to make it. They then again said mid-January but nothing. I’ll be calling them again to find out why they still haven’t sent me the printer and headset.

Just want to note though that although Globelines’ service is not that good, it is still better compared to Smart BRO.

I have just had my globelines installed two weeks ago. bundled with phone. promo. 1995 for 2Mbps package. Installation was quick. in three days. Internet speed is good. so why others have problems with their globelines internet bothers me. I am at Makati area.

@Oposisyon... masyado ka nman nagmmarunong at kung mkatira ka kay kritiko kala mo kung sino. easy lang pare. kaw nga dyan mali mali namn. for example, you don't say ISP provider ksi reduntdant na un ISP is acronym for Internet Service Provider.

Had problems everyday with my globelines 3mb line for 3 and a half months. Got a 2 week reimbursement from them (900 pesos). Kind of cheap of globelines in my opinion. Turns out a different modem solved the problem but waiting over 3 months for a solution is sad service. Having a problem with globelines internet for days, weeks, months is not unusual, they seem to feel that sending a tech over even if your problem does not get fixed is enough. The customer service people while very polite seem to have no information most times. They mostly stick with the system restoration story if you let them followed by multiple apologies.
  • Hi ktd, I could not agree more...it seems we have a few years more to go before we get the same quality as those from first world countries....
  • Hi! I'm Jake Bunce, the manager of Viettel ISP at http://www.adslviettel.com, and I think your post is awesome. It's hard to find quality information like this, I'm glad i found this, thanks for the valuable information.
But I have a suggestion: In my opinion the posts font and size is not the best typo for read. It is very uncomfortable.
    Anyway, good work!

i really hate globelines dsl because of their lousy services, I'm here in Cebu and i am new in globelines, 3months precisely but still i dont even experienced a stable or fast connection...my 1mb plan is just a piece of crap, because globelines just gave me around 50-300kbps, i always call the 171 but they never bother to solve my problem at all, their technician can not solve the problem also...they are all bunch of liars....

fuck i cant not terminate my globelines dsl connection because of the locked-in period...i can no longer bare the conncetions, I am already a frustrated customer of globe..sooner or later i will make a complain to DTI and NTC about this globelines ads because this is a fraud..

    @Kritiko
Globelines and Smartbro are both ISP provider so you cant not say that they are not direct competing ISP provider, in terms of packages they are still the same and they are meant to be compared(u a**hole). so not much of a comparison there?(tanga ka,bobo, noob) Smart Bro is a dsl connection and Globelines too, Smartbro is just wireless connection and Globelines is wire but stil they are both DSL... you were saying about packages right? tanga ka, they are still the same...bobo try to look at this point kung bakit compared ni Phaw ung globelines at smartbro...ikaw na ata ang pinaka tangang tao na nakilala ko..

we can compare smartbro, globelines and bayantel dsl and pldt dsl and digitel dsl coz they are ISP provider what ever the packages they are offered but still they are all the same..tanga..bobo ka Kritiko...you called yourself Kritiko but you never tried to look other options, your not a good critic at all you noob!

    Hi Kritiko,

Thanks for passing by :) I am not actually comparing the 2 packages but instead reflecting on my personal experiences with both of them. And so far as a consumer, I am more pleased with Globe's services (not in terms of broadband speed, but their actual service, customer service, etc....).

Don't think they're on the same level, they're not really direct competing packages (Globelines DSL vs Smart Bro), so not much of a comparison there..
