Here is my 2nd WP design. I know it’s not that good but hey a learned a lot while creating it. So first of all I’d like to thank the following sites for the knowledge that I’ve learned:

• CSS Tricks – For the screencasts and the tutorials. I have truly learned a lot from them from CSS to Photoshop to WP Design. Thank you!
• WP Designer – My first ‘How to create WP Themes Mentor’. I learned the basics of creating WP themes from this site.
• Pearsonified – This is one cool blog. Not only did I learn some stuff like how to create random image headers (which I modified see here), his posts are words of wisdom!
• Jehzlau Concepts – What I learned from here is not using the WP built-in function of displaying pages. I opted to display page links manually like in this site.
• John Chow – Used the ‘ad within the content and above the fold’ style. The only difference is he is not using Adsense for that particular ad.
• Randell.ph – I really like that big footer section, looks cool.
• Macuha – The Twit and Plurk this post without a plugin! Need I say more?
• Wordpress – And of course to WP. Need I say more again?

Here are the features of the new design worth mentioning:

• Has a sitemap automatically generated by a plugin for SEO purposes
• New random image header
• RSS subscription more prominent
• Uses google search instead of the WP search
• Has my blurred picture at the footer

Yup, I know the design has a lot to improve. I’m jotting the things that needs improvement from my point of view.

• Redefine blockquote style
• Change navigation links image
• Style comments section
• Create fav icon
• Improve overall design
• Style Archive section
• Create individual pages for 4 category sections
• Embed Google search results into Phawville page
• Add Twit/Plurk, etc… this post functionality
• Put all code examples in a textarea and not under a blockquote
• Improve the content entry section style
• There is something wrong with the LI tags, they are not indenting properly. I’ll check it out next time.
