The term Rhabdo (or Rhabdomyolysis) has been going around the internet and is quite hot but what is it really? According to Wikipedia, it is the “… rapid breakdown (lysis) of skeletal muscle (rhabdomyo) due to injury to muscle tissue.” If you put it in another way, it is the continuous breakdown of the muscle because something or an event injured an essential part of the muscle.
Anything that destroys muscle tissue can lead to Rhabdo. For example, it could be physical like being injured in a disaster like an earthquake or it could be non-physical like getting poisoned by a snake.
Whatever the case is, take extra care to avoid injuring your muscle tissues so that it would not lead to Rhabdo.

There is less than a week left before the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight takes place in the city of lights and HBO has released its 3rd episode of a 4-episode mini-series video footage/documentary of both fighters’ camps. As usual, Team Pacquiao was featured first followed by Cotto’s camp.
The episode began with a quick summary of the previous 2 episodes. Then it quickly brought updated news on both camps. Pacquiao was shown to be more focused and aggressive as ever compared to his previous weeks of training. While there were a few extra-curricular activities here and there, his camp was pleased with how well his training is going.
Cotto’s camp on the other hand is much simpler than Pacuiao’s. Cotto is still the no non-sense boxer whose will to win is probably unmatched right now. He is also 1 step ahead of Pacquiao in everything. He started training earlier than Pacquiao and now he has flown to Las Vegas a week earlier than the Pacman.
Now, watch episode 3 of HBO’s Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7:
The Escambia County has declared and ordered all public school to be closed on both Monday and Tuesday although some employees are being asked to report on Monday. Extra-curricular activities are also being canceled on that day.
This is a wise move from the county officials and would give time for everyone to take shelter and protect their families from the incoming rampage of hurricane Ida.
From the Escambia County School District website:
The Escambia County School District will be closed Monday, November 9, 2009 and Tuesday, November 10, 2009.
The Escambia Emergency Operations Center has informed Superintendent Malcolm Thomas of the need to open Hurricane Shelters on Monday morning. With this decision, and with the need to allow parents and employees to prepare, Superintendent Thomas made the decision to close schools.
All Administrative, Professional and Maintenance Personnel (with the exception of custodial employees and food service employees) are asked to report to work on Monday, November 9, 2009 to assist with Hurricane preparedness and other duties as assigned.
All employees and students are asked to remain home on Tuesday. Wednesday is the Veteran’s Day holiday for all employees and students.
All extra-curricular activities scheduled for Monday and Tuesday have been canceled.
